WHYWe grew up in a society where faster, cheaper and more efficient was the trend. Surrounded by mass-produced products without soul or identity. Words like sustainability, organic and ECO have become more of a marketing slogan for big corporations than actual initiatives that create better goods, services and places. We from Dome ProjectsLombokpossess the dedication, resources and knowledge to build a community with homes that help facilitate thisbasichuman need to connect with each other, ourselves and nature. Join us to build this beautiful and unique Eco-resort with a vision to become self-sufficientin the production of food, energy and water.EXAMPLE - WHY: It started when Marco's wife had their daughter Giulia. Marco got worried about their baby's future. The planet was in pretty bad shape and business had to change. So Sam and Marco started looking for positive alternatives for the business they both knew inside out - hotels. They dreamed a little. They thought a lot. The two of them wanted fully sustainable hotels. They wanted stylish contemporary interiors. They wanted total comfort. They wanted healthy food choices. They wanted playful touches. They wanted Holland to win the World Cup but that didn't happen. They wanted a lot, frankly. Lots of other stuff went on that we don't have time to go into here but, eventually, Conscious was born.I THINK THESE SECTIONS SHOULD BE IN THE BROCHURE NOT THE WEBSITE >
Pertnering up with Building Trust International, Dome Lombok will host a workshop for 2 weeks, starting the 4th of November. Join us today and help the people of North Lombok, build stronger houses.
Dome team is responding to the Earthquakes that shook the island. We decided to get involved to introduce the super-adobe technique to the islander, as it has proovedto be earthquake resistant. The first Dome is for a family of 5. They have been sleeping outside since the first earthquake. We hope to build and teach so noone else becomes a victim if the earth decide to shake things up again!
After building through a heavy rainy season, we have learnt an important lesson about sustainability that we like to share with all like minded people out there who are also thinking about building the eco way. We are making a confession about how we’ve become more flexible towards using materials we thought we’d never use. Read more on our sustainability page "concrete confession".
